Frequently asked questions about EI class fire resistant swing doors
What safety characteristics do fire-resistant automatic swing doors feature?
Manusa fire-resistant automatic swing doors operate in the same way as our standard doors except if there is a power cut due to a fire, an alarm or similar. In the event of a fire, when the flames come into direct contact with the wall, the intumescent materials start working and seal the door within 4 or 5 minutes, preventing the fire from spreading and ensuring the door does not open.
Why is it important that automatic swing fire doors remain closed?
In the case of a fire, the doors must remain closed but not locked, that is, the leaves should be closed in order to stop the passage of flames, smoke, gases and high temperatures between areas when the fire reaches them.
