Efficiency and design with automatic doors for business centres

Specials

The Badalona Centro Internacional de Negocios (BCIN) is a key space for business, institutional and cultural activities in the heart of the metropolitan area of Barcelona. Designed as a meeting point for businesses, entrepreneurs, and events, the centre features a building with open architecture and abundant natural light, characterised by its wide glass surfaces from where you can enjoy stunning views of the Mediterranean sea. At Manusa, we have contributed to the unique project by installing automatic doors at various strategic access points throughout the building.

As a measure of energy savings, the BCIN building is covered by solar panels that enable it to generate and consume its own energy. Additionally, the installation of the automatic doors helps reduce energy loss, thanks to their opening and closing speed, minimising the time they remain open and preventing draughts. As a result, the energy used for air conditioning is reduced, and people experience an increased sense of comfort.

On the other hand, the BCIN accesses must be integrated into the careful design of the building to provide inclusive solutions that do not require effort for individuals with reduced mobility, as well as for providers or technical teams. For this reason, automatic doors are the ideal choice since they open without any physical interaction, promoting universal accessibility. And this is done in a safe way, as the installed models include obstacle detectors to prevent collisions and other incidents.

Integration and design in each automatic door

The main entrance of BCIN features a standard automatic sliding door with a central opening with a transparent frame, which integrates with the building’s architecture and its glass façade, while also optimising thermal and sound insulation from the outside, by remaining open only as long as necessary to allow people to pass through.

The hall is directly connected to the main space of the facility through two telescopic side-opening doors. These doors maximise the opening space of both entrances without compromising the design or the natural light that enters the central area of the building. This enhances the visual connection between the interior and the exterior, creating a greater sense of openness and reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day.

On the lower floor, a central opening sliding-door with a self-supporting structure and safety guide gives access to a balcony that overlooks the coast. This design offers both solidity and stability to the model while minimising thermal exchange with the exterior, without affecting the luminosity of the space or the panoramic view of the sea from inside.

With such solutions, Manusa can enhance both the architecture and efficiency of a very unique building. If you’re looking to install automatic doors that combine design, natural light and optimal functionality, contact Manusa to learn how we can adapt the project to your specific needs.
