Paediatric Cardiovascular Recovery at the Cardiology Institute

Nowadays, it is very common to see automatic doors installed in healthcare facilities, both in interior spaces and at the entrance from the street. Intelligent accesses favour the transit of people, eliminate architectural barriers, optimise energy efficiency and reduce the possibility of contagion of viruses and bacteria that could be caused by touching the doors with the hands.

One of the latest projects carried out by Audoor, our distributor in Argentina, is the Paediatric Cardiovascular Recovery Area of the "Juana Francisca Cabral" Cardiology Institute of Corrientes. As this is a particularly delicate space, a recovery area, 8 hermetic glass doors were installed, which are specially designed to allow observation from the outside, limiting the entrances and exits to those strictly necessary. In addition, their airtightness guarantees watertightness, preventing the entry of bacteria or dust, which would be very harmful to the patients and their optimal recovery.

This project is special, as it is focused on children, so the architects worked with a focus on architecture in favour of health, incorporating vinyls with children's drawings of animals from the Iberá nature reserve in Argentina dressed in doctors' clothes. In this way, an impersonal environment is transformed into a more human and warm one, so that the children who are admitted there do not experience the situation in a traumatic way, but in a more comfortable and welcoming environment.
