Frequently asked questions about EI class automatic fire sliding doors

How do automatic fire doors work?

Manusa automatic fire doors work just like our automatic sliding doors, whether they are bi-parting or single-slide design. The only difference is that the automatic fire doors are designed and manufactured to remain intact and isolate the space in the event of a fire. The door remains closed and prevents the passage of flames, smoke, gases and significant heat transfer to the unexposed surface for a certain period of time (30 or 60 minutes, depending on the model).

How should automatic fire doors be installed?

Automatic fire doors must be installed on a smooth, level and even floor in stable walls with sufficient load-bearing capacity, level partition profiles and no vibrations or shocks in the vicinity of the door. They must be installed by Manusa authorised technicians with sound technical knowledge of our products and the reference standards and their application to Manusa products and services.
